Studio Policies
Class Apparel information - To insure uniformity, we require that all dance attire be purchased at Spells Dance Wear in Green Hills (292-4387) or Brentwood (376-4647). The basic dress code is as follows:

• Ages 3-4 & 4-5 – Pink leotard with skirt, pink tights, black tap shoes and pink ballet shoes
• Ages 5-6, 5-7 & 6-8 – Blue leotard, blue skirt, pink tights, black tap shoes and pink ballet shoes
• Ages 7-9 & 8-10 – Navy leotard, skirt is optional, pink tights, black tap shoes and pink ballet shoes
• All 1 1/2 hour classes – Black leotard, black skirt, black jazz pants, pink tights, tan tap shoes, tan jazz shoes, and pink ballet shoes.
• Teen classes – BDC Apparel tank top and either BDC logo pants or black jazz pants.
• Hip-hop – BDC Apparel tank top and either BDC logo pants or black jazz pants with black dance sneakers.
• Modern – BDC Apparel tank top and BDC logo pants or black jazz pants. No shoe required.
• Boys – BDC boys tee and track pant with black tap shoes for tap, and sneakers for Hip Hop.
• Broadway Beginners – BDC apparel top and black jazz pants with tennis shoes. No flip flops or crocs please.
• Musical Theatre Dance – BDC apparel top and black jazz pants with tan tap shoes and tan jazz shoes.
  

Adult Classes
Tuition - As of Sep 1st, we will no longer have the “monthly membership” plan. We will have the following options.
1) 10 class punch card- $60.00 With this option you can attend any class. Punch card must be used in full by December 19th. Any remaining punches can not be rolled over to Spring semester. To purchase punch card, call Melodie in the office, Monday-Thursday 10am-5pm. Once purchased BDC will have your punch card waiting for you at the studio. Punch cards can not be purchased the night of class.
2) $12.00 per class. Must have exact change or check. No credit card payments will be taken.
Apparel - Please wear appropriate dance attire and shoes. There are no shoes required for modern and street sneakers are appropriate for hip hop.

Grooming for Class
All dancers should come to class with their hair pulled up and dance attire neat and clean. It is important that the dancers learn that their dance attire is special and must be treated with care. If a dancer arrives not dressed appropriately for class, they will be asked to sit and observe.

Being On Time
Please try to arrive at the studio in plenty of time for the dancers to put on their dance shoes and be prepared to dance. The first few minutes of class are very important because they contain exercises designed to warm-up the body before graduating to larger movements. Also a late arrival can be distracting to the dancers who have already begun their class.

Observation
Observers are not permitted in the studio during a class period. 

Helpful Hints for Preschool Parents
Here are a few helpful hints to help your preschooler in dance class:

• Please be sure that before every class your child has been to the restroom. Needing to go during class is a distraction for them and they may miss something really fun in class.
• Always be sure your child has had a snack before class. This helps a tired child feel more energized and happy. This is especially true for children attending evening classes.
• Encourage your dancer to leave toys at home. Baby dolls and teddy bears are great fun to have and share, but can be very tempting when observing his or her little parent in dance class.
• Praise! Praise! Praise! If your child is interested in showing you a movement learned in class or one created on his/her own, watch with great interest and be excited! At that moment, your child is expressing love, joy, and happiness. Could you ask for anything more wonderful?
  

Video Taping/Photography
Personal video taping of our recitals is not permitted. A professional videographer will be present to video our recital, and you may order a copy through this company. No photography is permitted during the show.

Bad Weather Policy/Studio Closings Policy
In the case of inclement weather please call the studio for a voice mail greeting informing you of any changes in our class schedule for that day. Refunds or tuition adjustments are not made for missed classes due to snow days. However, make-up classes will be made available. For information regarding studio closings for holidays, please refer to the calendar portion of the website.

Studio holidays: We are closed the following Holidays.

• Sept 7 - Labor Day
• Nov 24-28 - Thanksgiving Holiday
• Dec 21- Jan 3 - Winter Holiday
• March 15-20 - Spring Break
• April 2-3 - Easter Holiday
