Here at the Bellevue Dance Center we find performances to be an important part of your child’s growth as a dancer. Being on stage builds self esteem and self confidence. For this reason we do 2 full recitals a year. The first performance is in December and a fully costumed recital in Spring.

Recital Information
Dress rehearsals are closed to family and friends. Children must arrive 15 minutes prior to their dress rehearsal time. As soon as the children are done rehearsing they are free to leave. Parents need to remain backstage while the child is rehearsing.

On recital day children are to arrive 30 minutes prior to show time. Parents need to drop children off backstage and return to the lobby. In order to be seated each person must have a ticket in hand. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time taking those with special needs first. Absolutely no videotaping or photography during the performance. Failure to abide by this policy is grounds for removal from the recital. DVD’s may be purchased of the recital for $35.00. DVD’s orders taken after the recital will be charged $40.00. After the performance is over one parent can come backstage to pick up their child.

Recital Fees
December - In December, the students will have a performance that will not require special costuming. There will be a recital fee of $35.00 per BDC family and each child will receive 4 tickets. Additional tickets will be available to purchase for $5.00 a ticket. Requests for additional tickets need to be submitted to Melodie by December 1st. Additional tickets are on a first come first serve basis and will be sold until we run out.

Costume Fees
As with many things in life these days, recital costumes are continuing to go up in price. While we make every effort to keep these prices reasonable, as the old saying goes “you get what you pay for”. Therefore, when we begin planning for our spring recital you will be asked to pay a costume fee as shown in the following schedule. This will be added to your invoice. If your child is in multiple classes we do offer a costume payment plan that will be added to your bill monthly beginning in September. Please come by the office to set this up with Melodie.

• Pink classes (3-4 and 4-5 classes) $50.00 per class
  
• Light blue classes (5-7 and 6-8 classes) $55.00 per class
  
• Navy blue classes (7-9 and 8-10 50 minute classes) $60.00
  
• Black 1 1/2 hour classes $80.00 (Includes hip-hop, modern, advanced, teen and adult classes)
  
  

Although we hope that this fee schedule will cover all costume costs, if the cost is more than this fee, we will invoice you for the balance. Unfortunately, due to costume companies’ policy, costumes are not returnable and therefore any money paid for costumes is not refundable.
